 Coaches are needed for the 2010 season for both Football and Cheer Teams. All Applicants will be required to fill out a 2010 Head Coach Application or a 2010 Assistant Coach Application . If the applicant is approved by the Santa Fe Pop Warner Inc. Board of Directors, the coach will be required to complete a South East Region Coaches Clinic and complete a background check before the start of the 2010 season. Coaches who have been to a "live" clinic in the past may recertify online even if their prior certification has expired or participate in a 'live" clinic in July.

Putnam Athletic League has scheduled a Football and Cheer coaches clinic for new coaches on  July 17 and 18th at  Bradford County High School. New Football and Cheer coaches will be required to attend this clinic to be certified to coach this year.

Putnam Athletic League has scheduled a Tiny Mite coaches clinic for July 11th at the Clay County Courthouse in Green Cove Springs Fl. New Tiny Mite coaches will be required to attend this clinic to be certified to coach this year.

                                   Football and Cheerleader Head Coach Selection Procedure


This procedure is a description of the process that Santa Fe Pop Warner, Inc. utilizes to select Head Coaches for Cheer and Football. This procedure was developed to ensure that Head Coach selection is fair, impartial, consistent from year-to-year, and, most importantly, best serves the boys and girls that participate in Santa Fe Pop Warner Football, Inc.

The following process will be utilized for selection of Head Coaches for Football and Cheerleading:

    • Complete 2010 Head/Assistant Coach Application and submit to Board by April 24th. Attach letter if desired. All applications received announced at April Board meeting.

    • Head Coach Selection Committees (1 for Cheer and 1 for Football) receive applications at April meeting for review.

    • Head Coach Selection Committees review applications and select a candidate to recommend to Board for vote at April meeting.

    • Board votes on recommended Head Coach at April meeting.

    • If majority of Board in attendance votes Yea, Head Coach is selected.

    • If majority of Board in attendance votes Nay, Head Coach Selection Committee reconvenes and selects next candidate for recommendation for Head Coach to the Board. The process repeats until the Board approves the recommendation of the Head Coach Selection Committee.

In no case shall the Board vote for a Head Coach directly. The Board will vote only for or against the person recommended the Head Coach Selection Committee.

All Head Coaches must be selected by the May meeting. Head Coach positions may be left open if the Head Coach Selection Committee determines there are no qualified candidates.

There will be two (2) Head Coach Selection Committees – one (1) for Cheer Coaches and one (1) for Football Coaches. Each shall be selected at the February meeting and will consist of three (3) Board members. The respective Commissioner for each area (Cheer and Football) will chair each. The remaining two (2) members will be selected by Board of Directors.
